Bharti Airtel has partnered with Facebook and now provides free Facebook mobile site access its 130 million mobile customers. The deal is valid only for Airtel users for 2 months until August 31st, 2010.
Facebook’s mobile site (http://m.facebook.com) will be available in English and Hindi; and five more Indian languages – Punjabi, Bengali, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam – will be rolled out globally for the first time on Airtel by July 15, 2010. For the first time, Airtel customers who are Facebook users can post status updates, comment on walls, message others, view or upload photos – all without any data charges!
Existing mobile internet customers on Airtel can immediately start connecting with their friends by visiting the Facebook mobile site. Customers accessing the mobile internet for the first time need to simply SMS ‘FACEBOOK’ to 54321 to take advantage of this special offer.
Airtel is providing real extra value to it customers and had earlier provided free 2Mbps upgrade to view IPL matches and currently also offers free Encyclopedia Britannica subscription for next 2 years to all broadband subscribers.
