Windows Live Safety Center is a new, free service designed to help ensure the health of your PC.

It is aimed to Check for and remove viruses, Learn about threats, Improve your PC’s performance and Get rid of junk on your hard disk. Use the Full Service Scan to find and fix safety and health issues on your PC. I tried this on Firefox which was unsupported browser and the message alert showed the necessary system requirements.

“You need Windows XP Home Edition, Windows XP Professional, Windows 2000 Professional, Windows Server 2003, or Windows 2000 Server to use the scanner. You also need either Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0, or MSN® 9.0.”

Alternatively you can use service centers to meet your specific needs. Try the Protection Scan for free protection scan to check for and remove viruses and to find vulnerabilities in your Internet connection. The Tune Up Scan helps in PC maintainence and scans to see if you should defragment your hard disk to help improve performance. While the free Clean up scan finds and gets rid of unwanted stuff on your computer that might be slowing it down. So visit the Windows Live Safety Center and give your PC a check up.
