And finally the full public version of the Opera 9 web browser is released for download. And the after several beta technology previews, now you can download and use the Opera browser yourself. Opera 9 is a full-featured Web browser including pop-up blocking, tabbed browsing, integrated search, E-mail program and much more.
A major feature is the integrated Bittorrent means you don’t need a separate BitTorrent application to download large files, instead simply click a torrent link and start the download. Then there are small Web applications called Widgets (multimedia, newsfeeds, games and more) that make your desktop experience more fun. The voice feature allows you to control Opera’s interface by talking and to have documents read aloud.
Opera mail is the built-in POP/IMAP E-mail client which is a powerful e-mail program, news reader, mailing list organizer and RSS/Atom newsfeed reader. Communicate with people all over the world using Opera’s IRC chat client.
Opera supports kiosk mode – a lock-down mode in which the browser can be used for unattended computers in public places. Small-screen mode lets you see how websites will look on a mobile phone or other small-screen device running Opera.
The list of features is endless. I am sure it will give lot of competition to Firefox and the new Internet Explorer 7. Join the Spread Opera Community and promote Opera.
