As the Berkshire Hathaway stock rocketed, Warren Buffett fortune swelled to an estimated $62 billion, making him the richest man in the world, pushing Carlos Slim Helu to second and Bill Gates to third richest billionaires in the world. As the stock market plays games again, the world’s rich list is changing again…
Forbes is reporting that Warren Buffett is the richest man on the planet and far ahead of Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, who was the richest man in the world for 13 straight years. Earlier reports had appeared in media speculating that world’s richest person was Carlos Slim Helu (now second richest) and Mukesh Ambani (now 5th richest).
Gates is now worth $58 billion and is ranked third in the world. He is up $2 billion from a year ago, but would have been perhaps as rich–or richer–than Buffett had Microsoft not made an unsolicited bid for Yahoo!
The war of Internet giants is not over yet… and Bill Gates can comeback.
